Strategy
Frontline Tactician
★★★★☆ 4.4
Frontline Tactician asks one question every mission: can you win with fewer moves than the enemy expects? It's a turn-based strategy on a hex grid, and the maps are designed like little puzzles where terrain matters as much as firepower.
The campaign introduces units slowly, which we appreciated — by the time you have a full roster you actually understand what each one does. There's no rush timer, so you can sit and plan.
Hold off on upgrading your artillery until mission six or so; the early maps reward mobility far more than raw damage.
What we liked
- Thoughtful, puzzle-like maps
- No pay-to-win pressure
- Generous planning time each turn
