Frontline Tactician: mobility beats firepower early on

Frontline Tactician tempts you to upgrade your heavy units straight away. Resist it. The opening missions are built around reaching objectives and controlling terrain, not grinding the enemy down.

I replayed the third mission three times before realising the clock on that map rewards speed. Fast scout units got me the win far quicker than a slow artillery push.

Hold terrain with high ground whenever possible — the accuracy bonus is bigger than it looks, and it saved units I'd otherwise have lost.

Once you reach the mid-campaign, that's when heavier upgrades start paying off. Spend your early resources on movement and positioning first.
