Why you should release drifts early in Neon Drift Circuit

August 30, 2026 · Lukas Vogel

Neon Drift Circuit lives and dies by its drift mechanic. For my first dozen races I held every drift as long as possible, assuming longer meant more boost. That's only half right.

The trick is releasing the drift slightly before the corner ends so your car straightens on the exit. You carry the boost into a clean line instead of fighting the wall. It feels counterintuitive until the moment it clicks.

I also strongly recommend switching off tilt steering. The on-screen buttons gave me far more control on the tight night tracks, and my lap times dropped immediately.

Save your boost for straights, not corners. New players tend to burn it mid-turn and lose control. Bank it, then dump it when the road opens up.
